Lee Shin is a university student majoring in modern music. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of the band "The Stupid." Shin is known for his good looks, cocky personality, and strong passion for music. Everyone sees him as a cold-hearted person, but he's actually soft inside. He lacks interest in anything unrelated to music and has neither dreams nor plans for the future.

Lee Gyu Won is a bright and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Gyu Won's grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy. Trying to live up to her grandfather's expectations, Gyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of "The Stupid", she was forced to go to the band's concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him.

Meanwhile, the University has  hired a famous musical director, Seok Hyun  to direct its big 100 year anniversary performance. However, he finds out that his ex girlfriend, Yoon Soo, a famous ballerina who left him to pursue her career, is also teaching at the school. Seok Hyun takes advantage of his position to direct a play which is based on his and Yoon Soo love story.

Lee Shin likes Yoon Soo, and has always spied on Yoon Soo when she practices her ballet,  He’s always gentle and concerned with her and always help her when she falls when practicing. However, Yoon Soo tries to discourage him, telling him that  he should care about someone his age.

Joon Hee, a band member from Lee Shin group falls in love with Hee joo, a strongheaded, pround modern dancer. Joon Hee goes out all the way to please Hee Joo, like a lovesick puppy, but Hee Joo doesn’t appreciate it.

Later, Gyu Won and Lee Shin challenges each other, modern versus classical music. The loser becomes the servant for the winner. Lee Shin wins the challenge and Gyu Won has to do what he wants her to do for the next month. Meanwhile , the director gets closer Gyu Won and starts to support her. He even gets her to participate in the play, and tries to train her to be the main actress.

Seeing that Lee Shin has shown his affections to  Yoon Soo, Director Seok Hyun gets very jealous. He confronts Yoon Soo, and then admits to her of his jealousy, and asks her to restart their relationship. Yoon Soo, is overcome with emotion and accepts him.

Lee Shin is heartbroken, even more so because Yoon Soo has directly rejected him, and also when he sees that Yoon Soo and the director has reunited. He becomes moody and sullen, and Gyu Won tries to get him to give up on Yoon Soo. Gyu Won realises that she has grown closer and has feelings for Lee Shin.

So, will Lee Shin and Gyu Won get together?
