The story starts with Jiang Xue Ning (later called Ning Er) as empress. To gain more power and reach the this position, she betrays all close to her including her childhood friend Yan Lin and the arrest of the righteous Official Zhang Zhe. However, the emperor dies, and Xie Wei and Yan Lin, the general rebels against her rule.  The rebels seize the capital and ruthlessly exterminate the entire royal family. Jiang Xue Ning knowing that her life and reign has come to an end, pleads Xie Wei after he marches into her chamber. She asks to exchange her life for the freedom of imprisoned Zhang Zhe, who has helped her and whom she feel most guilty to. She promises Xie Wei, to commit suicide in exchange for Zhang Zhe's freedom. And she does it. 

However, she wakes up and discovered she has travelled to the past, and is now back to her 18 year old self, who has yet to enter the palace. The good thing is she has all memories of past events, and know what is before her.  Seizing this opportunity to become a better person, she vows to avoid the same decisions she made in the past. She tries to completely avoid the palace, but unfortunately Princess Le Yang from the palace takes a liking to her. She then becomes Princess Le Yang’s study companion and comes into close contact with Xie Wei, who everyone respects and fear at the same time. 

Knowing that Xie Wei will one day kill her, she tries to avoid him, but things keep throwing them together. They join hands to save her childhood friend Yan Lin and then when romantic feelings start to surface, Zhang Zhe comes into the picture. Jiang Xue Ning, with past feelings of guilt at the same time admiration of him, starts to show him attention, and causes rift and jealousy of Zhang Zhe.

                                      (Spoilers ahead) Ying Zi finds out that something is amiss with Yi Fei. Her friends Jiang Yi, Ming Yu, Zhuang Yuan all seems to be hiding something from her. One day, when she sends an email to Yi Fei, she notices that Jiang Yi’s phone buzzes… It turns out that Ying Zi witnessed her best friend, Yi Fei’s suicide and suffers from PTSD. They kiss again (ISWAK 2) ending

My thoughts: Normally sequels don't do well, but this one was quite good. Of course, there were moments you go "huh?" for eg the honeymoon situation with the other couple, but it was still bearable. The scenes between both of them are even more in this sequel and fans were no doubt pleased. Other than the abnormally long PG scenes from the director, i thought they film it quite properly and it had continuity. AND i love the ending!! On to the ending.. The Last episode started off with Xiang Qin receiving a call from Ah Jin and Christine (they are so cute together) saying that they are really happy, and married. After that, Zhi Shu says to Xiang Qin that having her is the best thing in the world. Then, they discovered that the whole family is down with flu. Zhi Shu tells Xiang Qin to bring medical instruments for him and she appears in the nurse uniform (cute!!) Pediatrical unit needed an extra nurse, so Xiang Qin gets sent over there with all the kids.
